Are brand promises just paper-deep?
Dutch and Canadian researchers recently studied how 115 students reacted when they mingled with attractive actors and actresses. The sexier looking the person, the higher the interest and need to start a relationship – especially for men. Men only took approx. four seconds to decide whether or not they were interested in the ladies, and after 8.2 seconds they made their moves.
Women on the other hand were not influenced by looks in the same way. They gave all prospects almost equal consideration.

Research on speed dating produces similar results. It also parallels the time needed for a purchase decision to be made in store: three seconds.

So the better packaging the better the results. (Who says some consumers aren’t shallow).
